Celebrating Dr. Glen Tonnessen’s Recognition as a NJ Top Docs Honoree

It is our pleasure to share that our Managing Director, Dr. Glen Tonnessen, has received honorary recognition from NJ Top Docs. With over thirty years of cardiovascular experience and more than a decade of dedication to venous care, he exemplifies the knowledge and compassion we strive for in our practice. This is a recognition of his consistent devotion to improving the vascular health of our community.

What Makes NJ Top Docs Different

Choosing a doctor is easier when you have an independent guide. The NJ Top Docs program evaluates physicians through a merit‑based process rather than paid advertising.

Applicants submit information about their education, training, and experience, and these details are verified. A committee of seasoned healthcare professionals reviews each candidate, and doctors are re‑reviewed annually.

Doctors cannot buy a spot on the list. The process assures patients that physicians with this designation have been thoroughly vetted.

A Physician with Deep Expertise

Dr. Tonnessen’s background mirrors what the program seeks. He completed his medical residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center and a cardiovascular fellowship at Seton Hall University.

He holds board certifications in cardiovascular disease and vascular medicine and has practiced cardiology for more than thirty years while focusing on venous disorders for over a decade. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.

He also holds a master’s degree in medical management. His combination of clinical expertise and leadership makes his selection by NJ Top Docs especially meaningful.

Our Commitment to Quality Care

The Vein Institute of Hunterdon is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care in vein treatment and management.

In our Clinton and Bridgewater offices, we offer minimally invasive treatments for varicose and spider veins, such as sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, laser therapy, and VenaSealTM. Every plan is tailored to your needs and explained clearly. This patient‑first approach is one reason the program recognized our practice.

Why This Matters

Being named a NJ Top Docs honoree is more than a title; it validates the trust you place in us. Because the designation is based on education, experience, patient reviews, and a record of ethical practice, it assures you that Dr. Tonnessen and our team meet high standards year after year.

The recognition also raises awareness of venous health. Many people live with leg pain or swelling without realizing that effective, minimally invasive treatments exist. We hope that this milestone encourages those struggling with varicose or spider veins to seek help.
