MD

Dr. Alexandra Lauren Solomon is a vascular medicine specialist at The Vein Institute of Hunterdon. Dr. Solomon graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology. She was accepted into the Boston University School of Medicine as a sophomore in college through the competitive MMEDIC (Modular Medical Integrated Curriculum) program. Upon graduation from medical school, she completed an internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center, also affiliated with Boston University. In addition, she has long had a passion for teaching and was part of the program’s Medical Educator Pathway. Before returning home to New Jersey, she finished up her 12 years in Boston with a vascular medicine fellowship (also at Boston Medical Center). In addition to the on-site clinical training in vascular medicine, Dr. Solomon completed the Anticoagulation Forum | Ansell Fellowship program, which allowed her to connect with and learn from the foremost experts in the field of vascular medicine from around the United States.

Dr. Solomon currently holds dual board certification in internal medicine and vascular medicine. She also holds RPVI (Registered Physicians’ Vascular Interpretation) certification, demonstrating expertise in the field of vascular ultrasound.

Furthermore, Dr. Solomon is an active member of the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM). She currently serves as the Chair of the Next Generation Committee, which is geared towards early-career vascular medicine specialists; the Vascular Disease Patient Page Associate Editor for the Society’s peer-reviewed journal, Vascular Medicine; and the co-director for the SVM Michael R. Jaff, DO, MSVM, Fellows Leadership Institute. She has also presented at and served as faculty for multiple SVM conferences. Dr. Solomon greatly values her vascular medicine family and the collegial, academic environment into which she has been warmly welcomed. For similar reasons, she could not be happier to be joining The Vein Institute of Hunterdon, with a shared commitment to providing safe, evidence-based, patient-centered, and excellent care.

Outside of work, Dr. Solomon loves spending time with her husband and rescue pups, Penguin and Stitch! She also enjoys colored pencil drawing and leading an active lifestyle through spinning and horseback riding.
